HOPE's mission is to serve as a life skills, enrichment, and resource center that promotes personal recovery and empowerment for adult consumers of the behavioral health community.
By Consumers, for Consumers
HOPE, Inc. is a “consumer-run, consumer-driven” agency that provides an array of services to adult members of the Behavioral Health community in southeast Arizona.
We have recently undergone quite a makeover. Armed with a new mission statement, we are “setting the bar” when it comes to consumer-run organizations. In keeping current with all the new state and federal requirements, we found a tremendous opportunity to clearly define what it is we do, and why we do it better than anyone. It starts with training, and having a competent, professional staff. At HOPE, we believe that “consumer- run” does not have to mean “non-professional.” As a result, HOPE is able to operate two very successful programs:
The Nueva Luz Center provides a very necessary psycho-social adjunct to the clinical setting. We have 40-50 members come through our doors each day. Our Peer Mentors lead a wide range of groups and activities that help members to attain their individual treatment goals in an enjoyable way. We are also able to teach valuable “life skills” to folks that are just starting out again on their own. We provide two very nutritious meals every day, as many of our members are on a very fixed income.

The Warm Line is a free service of HOPE, Inc. in Tucson, Arizona. It is a pre-crisis, non-emergency, peer to peer phone line for folks living with mental illness, addiction, or both. Our Peer Mentors lend a compassionate ear during times of despair and loneliness. Everyone has a need to be heard. The Warm Line offers a place where you feel "listened to". Sometimes, just a patient, non-judgmental, conversation can help put someone back on a even keel. Our Peer Mentors have first-hand experience living with mental illness or addiction. Who better to reach out to than a peer? Someone who understands, who has "been there". Not sure where to turn? We can provide some friendly advice, or a helpful referral. NO RELIGION, NO SALES TALK, NO JUDGEMENT.... Just support.
