Welcome to the HOPE,Inc. Website!

HOPE (Helping Ourselves Pursue Enrichment) is a consumer run agency that provides services for the behavioral health community of Tucson, Arizona (and its surrounding areas). In plain English, that means that people with first-hand experience in dealing with mental illness are helping others with similar challenges to learn to cope and recover. HOPE, Inc. is one of the premier organizations of its kind and provides a wide array of services to its consumers.
The Peer Mentor Program is one of the primary programs of HOPE, inc. One of the Peer Mentor Program's premiere service is the Warm Line. The Warm Line is a non-crisis confidential phone line operated by consumers for consumers. It is staffed by consumers who have gone through a rigorous training course that are there to listen to the caller's problems, complaints, frustration or just the simple desire to have contact with another human. The weekday hours are 4:30-8:30 and the weekend hours are 1:00-5:00 and the line runs 365 days a year. The number is (520) 770 9909 and also serves as an after hour stop for information about the Peer Mentor Program and its various actives.
Peer Mentors also visit those in various psychiatric facilities in Arizona. Their main goal is to provide hope to those in a dark place. The Peer Mentors come armed with valuable information that can help a person take control of their own life and their own recovery-as well as providing a friendly visitor to those who may not often receive visitors of their own.
HOPE, Inc. also manages Nueva Luz, a drop in center for adults with behavioral challenges. Nueva Luz (or new light) is a place where those enrolled with CPSA (the public mental health system of the greater Pima County area) can go to get a hearty lunch, attend groups to help their recovery, attend programs that teach valuable job skills or just to have a place where they can experience comradery and fun. It is staffed by the Peer Mentor Program, as well as others who deal with the effects of mental illness in either themselves or their family. Some of the member's favorite groups are arts and crafts, Compupeer (a full service computer lab), movie day, bipolar and 12 step groups. Of course the member only field trips are probably everyone's favorite. The open all free bowling that Nueva Luz facilitates twice a month is pretty popular though, too-and it's a great place to get yourself aquatinted with some friendly peer mentors.
For more information on the Peer Mentor Program, Nueva Luz, or other HOPE, inc. programs, you can call the front office during business hours at (520) 770 1197. You can also check out the calendar or read the newsletter for more information on events. And of course, you can bookmark this page to keep up to date on what's going on with HOPE, Inc.
